We treat others with honesty and compassion. We communicate with candor. Relationships matter and have immense long-term value.

№ 7

We manage our business like we manage our investments – deliberately built with an eye towards the long term. We strive to be better, not bigger. We have cultivated a deep network of relationships that provide advice and inputs as we continuously improve our processes. schutt capital logomark

Marshall P. Schutt

Founder & Managing Member

Marshall founded Schutt Capital Management LLC in 2008 to professionally pursue his passion for investing.

Marshall began his career as an investment banker specializing in mergers & acquisitions for mid-sized private businesses. This foundational work in analyzing and understanding different business models instilled in him a diligence-based approach to determining the intrinsic value of a company. He finds deep enjoyment in doing the “field work” on investment opportunities – interacting with managers and stakeholders, identifying clues to the culture and DNA of an organization, and reading source materials.

Marshall sits on the Board of Directors of Wilmington Insurance Company, a privately-held property & casualty insurer. He is a native of Richmond, Virginia and graduated from Washington & Lee University, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with Special Attainments in Commerce and a second major in Religion.

Marshall enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. He loves music, to exercise outdoors, and to further his own learning.
